I knew, the second the cat came on screen that something bad was going to happen to it. I have intuition for these things, and every time we went back to the cottage I thought, ‘OH NO THE CAT.”
Cats like that do not exist in movies like this for any other reason than for something bad to happen to them.
I WAS SO UPSET ABOUT THE CAT.
For some reason, I always forget animals die in this type of movie.
When we were first introduced to the cat, all I could do was jab my elbow repeatedly into my boyfriend’s side going, “MAX! MAX! IT’S A CAT! LOOK AT THE KITTY! DO YOU SEE IT? MAX!”
And then it died.
So. Many. Tears.
